The DP Experience: One Family’s Story by Zonia Keywan

In this presentation, Zonia Keywan recounted her family’s experience as refugees from Western Ukraine during and after World War II. Her discussion was based on two autobiographical novels authored by her mother, Maria Adriana Keywan. The account touched on the causes of displacement of Ukrainians at that time, living conditions in post-war displaced persons (DP) camps and finally, relocation to a new country of residence. The talk was illustrated by family documents and other visual material

A video recording of Zonia’s Webinar presentation can be found here. We also have a recording of the Introductory and Q&A segments from that evening. Zonia has also provided a list of references from her presentation.
